READ: Hebrews 11:17-22. Invite different group members to read the passage out loud, two or three times. Each time, use a different Bible translation.

Spend 2 minutes in silent prayer. After two minutes, have someone close in prayer.

Q1 – The ability to discern God’s voice is deeply connected to how attuned we are to His Word. What are your current rhythms or practices with Scripture?

Q2 – Where do you tend to hear God’s voice most clearly, and do you intentionally place yourself in those spaces? How can this community encourage you to grow in time with God and attentiveness to His voice?

Q3 – In what ways do you compare yourself and what God has called you to to someone else’s calling?

Q4 – How does the narrative of your life differ from how you thought it would turn out? How can you use God’s faithfulness to His promises to have bolder faith in light of your disappointments?

Q5 – Think about the connection from the Mayernick’s family and Abraham’s relationship with Isaac. How are you holding onto control over your family or your life?

Q6 – What was considered the most important thing to your parents growing up? Material Success? Reputation in the Community? What was modeled for you by your parents?

Q7 – Is your family bent towards obedience to God or approval of man? What are you modeling for your children? For those without kids: what was modeled for you by your parents?

Q8 – In what ways have you moved towards saying “yes” to what God has spoken to you?

THIS WEEK’S READINGS:

Each week we’ll include Scripture readings that are meant to help you reflect more deeply throughout the week, personally, or in your group:

Genesis 22:1-19 – Abraham and Isaac
Genesis 25:19-34 – Jacob and Esau
Galatians 3:5-6
Romans 4:13
John 8:58
Psalm 90:17

Take time to sit with these passages, return to them daily, and let them shape your prayers, questions, and conversations this week.

CHALLENGE:

SELF REFLECTION – Take a moment to honestly assess your day-to-day trust in God. Do you truly rely on Him in the small, ordinary moments, or do you find yourself clinging to control more than you realize?

Now reflect: Is your view of God big enough to invite Him into the mundane parts of your life to grow and build the trust that leads to true surrender?
