READ: Hebrews 9:8-28. Invite different group members to read the passage out loud, two or three times. Each time, use a different Bible translation.
Spend 2 minutes in silent prayer. As you sit with the passage, reflect on this: Through Jesus, how can we live a guilt-free life? What’s on your conscience this week? What are you carrying?
After two minutes, have someone close in prayer.
Q1 – What did God reveal to you during the silent prayer?
Q2 – We often talk about salvation as something that already happened. But in what ways is God still saving and healing you? Where do you sense your continued need for His intervention, rescue, or restoration?
MORTIFICATION
Q3 – Oftentimes we talk ourselves out of confessing our sins. But Jesus died so we wouldn’t have to live in hiding. What lies are keeping you from honest confession and a clean conscience?
ANTICIPATION
Q4 – What are some of the things that you are most anticipating in the future?
Q5 – Who in your life doesn’t yet know Jesus and wouldn’t be seated at the wedding supper of the Lamb if He came back today? How can you be a faithful witness in their life?
Q6 – What expectations do you have about God that might cause you to miss the ways he is coming again?
CHALLENGE:
Confession + Forgiveness
Is there anyone in your life that you need to apologize to? Do you have any conviction or guilt in your life right now that could be healed in the back end of humility? What steps could you take to mortify the flesh and receive the love and healing of your salvation? Is there anyone that you could trust to keep you accountable on that step?
