READ OUT LOUD AS A GROUP: Psalm 139. Read it two or three times as a group. Use a different translation each time.
Spend 2 minutes in silent prayer. As you breathe deeply, take a minute to honestly evaluate the state of your soul. Are you tired, angry, apathetic, or on fire for God? Have you become lazy? Why do you think that is the case?
After this, invite someone to close in prayer.
Q1 – What did God reveal to you during the silent prayer?
READ OUT LOUD AS A GROUP: Hebrews 5:11-6:12. Read it two or three times as a group. Use a different translation each time.
Q2 – Familiarity breeds contempt. Curiosity breeds wonder. The movement between the two is humility. Where in your life do you need to humble yourself to rediscover wonder?
DISCUSS – "Fight for delight in God.”
Q3 – What in your life do you seek satisfaction in other than the Word and Presence of God? Do you tend to view your walk with God as delight or duty? Why?
Q4 – When or how do you most enjoy God’s Presence? How could you arrange your schedule around delighting in God?
DISCUSS – “Wake up your wonder for God.”
Q5 – How have you been in awe and wonder of God this week?
Q6 – “The problem isn’t that we need to be taught more, but that we need to activate what we’ve already been taught.” Where do you need to take action? Is there something you need to activate or exercise in this season? Maybe it’s serving on a team, facilitating a community group, re-engaging in a spiritual discipline, using the gift of hospitality, etc.
CHALLENGE:
Activate it. This week, take a real, tangible step forward. Don’t just think about it—do the thing or start taking steps toward doing it. Whether it’s signing up to serve, reigniting a spiritual discipline, or simply reaching out to someone in need, choose action over intention. What’s one step you will take this week to exercise what God is calling you to?
Over the next few weeks, we’ll prepare for Church at Home, where the entire church will be invited to practice the Sabbath together. Your challenge is to begin experimenting with Sabbath day in your own life and within your group. Experiment with your own Sabbath rhythms—commit to intentionally practicing Sabbath at least a few times before Church at Home on Sunday, March 30th.
